Randy Trivers built the Northwest High School (Germantown, Md.) football program from the ground up. In his nine years at Northwest, Trivers took the program from its infancy to a perennial power. The first and only head coach in Northwest High School history, Trivers led the team to immediate success. In the programs second season, the Jaguars won the Montgomery County 2A Division Championship and advanced to the state quarterfinals in 1999. In 2004, Trivers guided Northwest to a 13-1 record and the 3A state championship and was named the Maryland Associated Press Coach of the Year.
Randy is a highly decorated football coach and educator, said Syracuse head coach Greg Robinson said. He has the qualities I was specifically looking for in a running back coach. I scanned the football landscape far and wide to find what I was looking for and, after speaking with people on all levels of football, it became clear that Randy is a great fit. He has a passion for coaching and developing young people. He is an outstanding fundamental football coach and a real student of the game. Randy is a motivator and has high energy. Because of his success he is respected and connected in the Washington, DC area.
