On the team’s defense:
“Man-to-man or zone, we just can not defend people. We couldn’t defend St. Joes, we couldn’t defend Siena, we couldn’t defend Ohio State and we couldn’t defend UMass.” On UMass: “They’re a good team. They’re a very good offensive team. Our offense is more than good enough to get the job done. In fact, I don’t think we can play offensively any better than we played tonight, but we can’t stop anybody. Until we can stop somebody, we’re going to struggle. It’s a team thing. We all played good on offense, we all played bad on defense. That’s it.” On Donte’ Greene: “He’s got to get inside a little bit. He had two or three real good open looks from the three-point line in the second half. First half he made them, second half he didn’t. If he made them we probably would have won 110 to something, but we just couldn’t stop them. Until we become a better defensive team we’re going to struggle. You just keep working in practice. That’s all you can do.” On Josh Wright’s return: “It’ll take him a couple more days of practice. He hasn’t played a practice in ten days. It’s tough.” |
