Orangewomen Varisty Eight Makes NCAA Rowing Championship

SYRACUSE — For the third time in the five-year history of the NCAA Rowing Championships Syracuse University's varsity eight has gained an at-large bid to the competition.

Syracuse's varsity eight is ranked sixth in by the USRowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association. This season the Orangewomen won the BIG EAST Rowing Championships, the Orange Challenge Cup and the Orange Plus Cup. SU's head rowing coach, Kris Sanford was named BIG EAST Coach of the Year.

The 2001 NCAA Rowing Championships is held on Lake Lanier in Gainesville, GA, on May 25-27.
