NEW YORK CITY – The Orange track and field teams head to the N.Y. Relays at Icahn Stadium at Randall's Island in New York City on April 22-23. The Orange men and women are coming off second-place team finishes at the Albany Spring Classic last weekend.
Freshman Brittany Pryor is coming off three first-place finishes in the shot put, discus and hammer throw. Senior Valerie Boling and junior Christen Tucker took first and second in the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. Boling tallied times of 12.42 and 24.69, while Tucker crossed the line in 12.57 and 25.36 seconds. Senior Jenna Grimaldi took first in the high jump clearing 1.70 meters.
Sophomore Aulton Kohn took first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.91 seconds. Senior Valerij Petrulevich finished first in the 1,500 meters with a time of 3:58.24, beating Albany's Andy Allstadt by one hundredth of a second. In the 110-meter hurdles, freshman Ramon Sosa took first in 14.89 seconds and freshman Marcus Vaughn finished third in 15.24 seconds. Junior Brien Flewelling finished second in the high jump with a mark of 1.89 meters. Sophomore Dan Pribula finished first in the in the shot put and fourth in hammer throw with marks of 15.54 meters and 45.29 meters, respectively.
SU travels to Philadelphia for the Penn Relays on April 28-30.
