Volleyball Signs Three to National Letter of Intent

SYRACUSE, N.Y. –Head volleyball coach Jing Pu announced the additions of Diana Kumse, Mindy Stanislovaitis and Hayley Todd. All three have signed national letters of intents to play for the Orange next season.
 
Kumse, who is 6-4, comes to Syracuse University from Tallmadge, Ohio, where she attends Tallmadge High School and plays middle blocker. Kumse has currently accumulated 302 kills and 171 blocks in her senior year. She earned 2006 first-team All-District 3 and first-team All-Suburban League honors, as well as being named to numerous all-tournament teams. In 2005, Kumse was named to the All-League Second Team.

Stanislovaitis, who is 6-2, comes to Syracuse from Westchester, Ohio where she was a four-year letterwinner at Mount Notre Dame High School. Stanislovaitis just helped lead her team to the state championship. She also led her team to the district championship her last three seasons and the regional championship her final two seasons. Stanislovaitis averaged 1.8 kills per game and 0.7 blocks per game during her senior year and recorded an attack percentage of 43.
 
A 2006 District Senior Academic Award Winner, Stanislovaitis was named the school's most improved player in 2005. She was a member of the Mizuno Cincy Classics Volleyball Club in 2004 and 2005, the Team Z Volleyball Club in 2006 and 2007 and attended the United State National Development Camp in 2005 and 2006.
 
Todd, who is 6-2, who comes to SU from Whitby, Ontario where she attended Anderson CVI, plays the middle blocker position. She led her team to LOSSA championships in 2005 and 2006, acting as captain in the team's undefeated 2005-06 season. While playing for her school, Todd was also named to numerous tournament all-star teams and awarded multiple tournament MVP titles.
 
Todd was the team captain for the 17/18U Ontario Provincial Team in 2006 which earned a bronze medal at the 2006 National Team Cup Challenge. She was also a member of the 19U Ontario Provincial Team in 2005 and Durham Attack Volleyball Club from 2002-2006. Todd was a 2006 Canadian National Junior Team Invitee. In 2005, Todd was the youngest volleyball competitor at the 19U Canadian Summer Games.
 
Todd's sister, Kimberly, currently plays for Marquette, leading the BIG EAST in kills per game in addition to earning all-conference first team accolades.
 
The Orange finished the 2006 season with a record of 11-25. Syracuse will return six starters plus the libero from this year's team and 12 of 13 letterwinners.
