The Syracuse men's and women's swimming and diving teams both received All-Academic status from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America for the Fall 2006 semester. Syracuse has had both teams receive the award ever year it has been given, a span of 12-consecutive seasons. The men's team had a combined 3.07 GPA, the 27th-best in Division I. The women's team had a combined 3.24 GPA, the 46th-best in Division I.
The Orange women's team was the second-highest ranked BIG EAST member, behind only Georgetown. On the men's side, Georgetown and Cincinnati were the only BIG EAST schools ahead of Syracuse.
A total of 352 teams earned Academic All-America honors, spanning all Divisions I, II, III, NAIA, and junior colleges. Of the 352 teams, 210 were women's teams and 142 were men's. Denver topped the list for both Division I men and women.
