SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Orange place kicker
Patrick Shadle was named to the BIG EAST weekly honor roll on Monday after connecting on three field goals of 46, 32 and 21 yards and scoring 12 points in the Orange's 30-21 victory against Northeastern.
The recognition of Shadle is the second in as many weeks for the senior. Last week, the Morgantown, W.Va. native earned league Honor Roll status after converting two 44-yard field goals and scoring seven points in a 55-13 loss to No. 17/17 Penn State.

A.J. Brown was named to the list after his performance at Northwestern in the season-opener. He had 11 tackles and an interception against the Wildcats.
Shadle's three field goals against Northeastern ties for ninth on Syracuse's single-game field goals made record list. He is the 29th SU kicker to hit three field goals in one game. Shadle has converted 32 career field goals, which ranks seventh on the all-time Syracuse list. Shadle currently holds the Syracuse record for field goal accuracy (.800) and ranks eighth on Syracuse's career field goals attempted record list (40).
In the BIG EAST, Shadle ranks first in field goal percentage (85.7), first in field goals per game (1.5), and tied for first in kicking scoring (6.8 ppg). The 46-yard field goal against Northeastern was the second longest in the conference this year.
The BIG EAST season begins for the 2008 Orange football squad this Saturday when the Pittsburgh Panthers visit the Carrier Dome (12:00 p.m., BIG EAST Network). Since the BIG EAST football league formed in 1991, the Orange is 11-6 in conference-opening games, including 7-4 record in league openers in the Carrier Dome.
Pre-game activities on the Syracuse University Quad begin at 12:30 p.m. The 2008 Orange football team Quad Walk will begin at 1:15 p.m. followed by the Syracuse University Marching Band Drum Line performance in front of Hendricks Chapel and the Marching Band Pep Rally to gets fans geared up for kickoff.
Almostfest will be held on the Quad prior to the game. The FabCats and Storm Front will entertain the crowd. The FabCats are Syracuse, NY's only SAMMY (Syracuse Area Music) Award-nominated Beatles band. The Fabs mix over 200 songs with a combined 125 years of performing experience to present a unique variety of songs and styles. A Billy Joel tribute band, Storm Front first hit the stage in the summer of 2007. The band, which is based in Albany, includes of six musicians who grew up loving and playing the music of Billy Joel
