SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The strong inside play of junior forward Rick Jackson# has propelled the Orange to a 44-19 lead against Cal State Los Angeles at halftime. Jackson leads all scorers with 10 points on 4-for-7 shooting and 2-for-5 from the charity stripe while collecting a game-high eight boards.
Syracuse trailed, 3-7, early before freshman guard Brandon Triche weaved through traffic and deposited a left-handed lay up, igniting a 12-0 run. Triche has four points and two assists at the break.
Leading, 30-18, SU extended its advantage with another 12-0 run, capped off by a James Southerland trifecta on an assist from sophomore guard Scoop Jardine. Jardine has dished out a game-high five assists and tallied six points.
