SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Eighth-ranked Syracuse travels south for a pair of BIG EAST games this weekend. The Orange takes on No. 6 Georgetown on Friday at 6 p.m. On Sunday, Syracuse faces No. 16 Loyola at 1 p.m. The Orange has posted an 8-2 overall record this season and is 3-0 in conference action.
Syracuse defeated Louisville and Cincinnati in the Carrier Dome last weekend to extend its BIG EAST regular-season winning streak to 12, dating back to the 2007 campaign. Overall, the Orange has won 16 straight games against league opponents, including two wins in both the 2007 and 2008 BIG EAST Tournaments.

A LOOK AT THIS WEEKEND'S GAMES
Syracuse and Georgetown have combined to win every BIG EAST regular-season title since the conference began sponsoring women’s lacrosse in 2001 ... Loyola is in its fourth season competing in the league in women’s lacrosse ... The Orange is playing at Diane Geppi-Aikens Field for the second straight year. Last season, Syracuse defeated Loyola, 19-8, on its home field.
SCOUTING THE HOYAS
Junior Molly Ford is Georgetown’s leading scorer this season. Ford, a 2008 third-team All-American, has 27 goals and 10 assists. She is closely followed by junior Jordy Kirr, who has 22 goals and a team-high 13 assists. Junior Caitlin Formby has started all 10 games in goal for the Hoyas. She has a 9.82 goals-against average and a .440 save percentage.
SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS
Sophomore Grace Gavin is Loyola’s leading scorer with 48 points on 35 goals and 12 assists. Sophomore Abby Rehfuss has netted 19 goals to go along with eight assists, while junior Emily Gibson has 15 goals and 11 assists. Sophomore Meg Steffe and freshman Kerry Stoothoff have shared time in goal this season for the Greyhounds. Steffe has started seven games and has a 9.23 goals-against average and a .480 save percentage. Stoothoff has started three contests and recorded a 10.14 goals-against average and a .457 save percentage.
