SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse men’s rowing team jumped two spots to No. 8 in the most recent US Rowing Men’s Varsity Eight Collegiate Coaches Poll. The Orange was previously ranked 10th after its strong showing in the San Diego Classic and was ranked 13th in the preseason poll.
The Orange men have been ranked in the top 13 during the last three seasons. At eighth, SU is ranked the highest since the team peaked at No. 8 on May 9, 2007.
Most recently, Syracuse competed for the Conlan Cup against Columbia and Boston in the Charles River in Boston, Mass. For the fourth consecutive year, the Orange retained the Conlan Cup winning three of four races, including the Varsity Eight.
The men’s rowing team is 24-2 in dual races since 2006 and has on 13 of its last 14 cup contests since 2006.
Syracuse is back on the water on Sunday, May 10. The team competes in the Eastern Sprints in Worcester, Mass.
