SYRACUSE – Syracuse University senior rower Susan Groff is training with Pennsylvania Athletic Club Rowing Association and will attempt to make the Under 23 World Championship at the 2009 Under 23 World Championship Trials on July 6-10 on Mercer Lake in New Jersey.
Groff is racing in the second seat of women’s four. If Groff’s boat wins its race it will represent the United States at the 2009 Under 23 World Championships.
Groff helped the second varsity eight defeat Boston University with a time of 7:07.2. She rowed with the varsity eight for the remainder of the spring season and finished second in the Cayuga Cup. Helped win the Orange Cup in 7:38.2 as a 3-seat. She also placed third at the O’Leary Cup.
