SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Orange rising senior Cody Jamieson made history as the first player to be named Major Series Lacrosse (MSL) MVP, Rookie of the Year, and win the league’s scoring title in the same season.

Jamieson, a member of the Six Nations Chiefs, received the Jim Murphy Award as league MVP, the Gene Dopp Award as the league’s top rookie, and the Bucko McDonald Award as the league's scoring champion at the MSL banquet on July 29. He scored 48 goals and dished out 48 assists in 17 MSL games.

Jamieson played six games for the Orange last season and scored 12 points, including nine goals. He shined in the NCAA Championship scoring three points (2g, 1a) in consecutive games against Duke in the NCAA semifinals and Cornell in the national championship game.

Jamieson’s biggest goal of the year came in overtime of the NCAA title game against the Big Red when he snagged a pass from Dan Hardy and scored to lift Syracuse to a 10-9 victory and clinch the program’s 11th NCAA national championship.
