BOSTON, Mass.
– The Boston University Valentine Invitational is one that junior Lauren Penney will not forget as she broke the school mile record with a personal-best time of 4:41.34, which earned her third place. 

Fellow junior Heather Stephens finished eighth in the mile with a time of 4:48.17. Syracuse excelled in the 3000m run with three runners in the top-15 out of 103 competitors. Junior Natalie Busby and senior Catherine DeSarle crossed the finish line together at 9:33.31 and took 11th place. Sophomore Sarah Pagano followed closely behind with a time of 9:43.58 to earn 14th.

On the men's side, sophomore Andrew Nelson finished seventh in the 1000m run time of 2:27.71. Junior Tito Medrano took eighth in the 3000m run with a time of 8:12.85. Sophomore Roman Acosta rounded out SU's top-10 finishers with an eighth-place finish in the 5000m run (14:25.97).
