“Our goal going into this season with this recruiting class, which I think is important, is speed first. That’s the number one thing I wanted to bring into our program," said head coach Doug Marrone. "The second thing that we were looking for was we wanted a bigger team. We wanted to get more range in the athletes that we were bringing in. We think we accomplished that with the height and weight of a lot of the players we’ve brought in. Our class represents great character with a high quality of academics. It’s interesting, we can talk about the players on the field, but the thing I’m most proud of is that we’re bringing in three student-athletes who are going to be enrolling in our engineering school. I think that speaks a lot about the type of players that we’re bringing into this program.

The offensive group includes quarterbacks Ashton Broyld and Terrel Hunt, wide receivers Kyle Foster, Keenan Hale and Jeremiah Kobena, running backs Adonis Ameen-Moore, Brandon Reddish and Tyree Smallwood, tight end Louis Addazio, and offensive linemen Lou Alexander, Kristofer Curtis, Nick Robinson, Rob Trudo and Ivan Foy. The defensive group includes defensive lineman Eric Crume, Donnie Simmons and Ryan Sloan, linebackers Cameron Lynch and Oliver Vigille, and defensive backs Dyshawn Davis, Ritchy Desir, Siriki Diabate, Durrell Eskridge, Jaston George and Shutang Mungwa. The specialists are punter Jonathan Fisher and long snapper Sam Rodgers

Addazio, Davis, Diabate, George , Kobena and Alexander are already enrolled at Syracuse and will participate in Spring practice, which begins on March 8 and concludes with the annual Spring game on April 16.

The Football National Letter of Intent Signing Day reception and program for SU season ticket holders scheduled for 5:00 pm on Wednesday, Feb. 2 in Manley Field House has been postponed due to the weather forecast. The response for the celebratory event was tremendous, but with more than a foot of snow forecast for tomorrow, many fans have already called to cancel. The athletics department will work to identify another opportunity to celebrate our 2011 recruiting class and Football program with our Season Ticket holders.

Season tickets for the 2011 season are available online (www.suathletics.com) and at the Carrier Dome Box Office (888-DOMETIX).
