Syracuse redshirt senior
Ollie Haney will miss the remainder of Syracuse’s Spring football practice due to a right shoulder injury sustained on March 24. An MRI taken on March 25 revealed a labral tear. Surgery will be performed by Dr. Irving Raphael on March 30. As a result of the surgery and rehabilitation process, Haney will not return for the remainder of the 2011 spring season and his status for the 2011 season will be re-evaluated during the summer.
As a junior in 2009, Haney played in four games after moving to nose tackle from offensive guard in the Spring of 2009. He missed the 2010 season due to a left pectoralis muscle injury sustained during preseason. The Clark, N.J. native is a two-time BIG EAST All-Academic Team selection and a four-time member of the Syracuse Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.
Syracuse will hold Saturday’s Spring practice session Sahlen's Field in Rochester. The practice, presented by Summit Federal Credit Union, will feature an intra-squad scrimmage. The special trip west will be the first time Syracuse has held a Spring practice session away from campus. All spring practices are free and open to the public.
