Eaton And Penney Shatter Orange Records
Senior Jarret Eaton, who broke the SU record with the nation's fastest time in the 60-meter hurdles last weekend, had a repeat performance with a 7.49 time at the Penn State National Invitational on Friday in State College, Pa. Lauren Penney, competing at the Boston University Terrier Invitational, also broke a school record with a 4:39 time in the mile run. Syracuse will continue competition throughout the weekend at Penn State, Boston University and Colgate.

Senior Jarret Eaton, who broke the SU record with the nation's fastest time in the 60-meter hurdles last weekend, had a repeat performance with a 7.49 time at the Penn State National Invitational on Friday in State College, Pa. Lauren Penney, competing at the Boston University Terrier Invitational, also broke a school record with a 4:39 time in the mile run. Eaton reached the finals in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 7.67 in the preliminaries along with teammate Amadou Gueye before besting his NCAA leading time with a 7.49 mark in the finals for a meet, facility, and Syracuse record.

Also in State College, senior Flings Owusu-Agyapong finished second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.34, beating her preliminary time by 0.02 seconds.

In Boston, Penney picked up where she left off from an All-American cross country season in 2011 with an Orange school record in the mile at 4:39, the sixth best time in the nation this season.
