PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Orange sophomore forward
C.J. Fair was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll on Monday for his performances against Louisville and Rutgers this past week.
Fair led the #2/2 Orange (27-1, 14-1) in scoring against Louisville last Monday in a gritty 52-51 win. He had 13 points and five rebounds in 35 minutes of action to help Syracuse edge the Cardinals. He then posted a career and game-high 21 points to go with eight rebounds, two steals, and one block in 38 minutes to help the Orange win 74-64 at Rutgers on Sunday.
Fair was efficient from the free throw line last week, shooting 3-for-4 against Louisville, and a perfect 8-for-8 against Rutgers, bringing his percentage on the season up to 74 percent. He has also grabbed the most total rebounds for the Orange this season with 154, averaging 5.5 per game.
Fair and the Orange will be in action again this week against South Florida (Wednesday, 7:00 p.m., BIG EAST NETWORK/SNY), and at Connecticut this weekend (Saturday, 9:00 p.m., ESPN).
