The Orange football program leads the BIG EAST with a school-record 28 student-athletes on the 2011 BIG EAST All-Academic Football Team. Team co-captain
Kevyn Scott leads the way for Syracuse as a four-time honoree, while seven earned the recognition for the third time in their Syracuse career. A student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average and have completed at least 18 credit hours to be considered.
Scott, who is a graduate student enrolled in the information management program and earned his undergraduate degree in information management and technology in May 2011, is the 11th SU football student-athlete to be named to the team in each of his four years at Syracuse. A four-year letterwinner, Scott, a starting cornerback for the Orange, earned 2011 CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-America honors for his achievements in the classroom and on the field. He attended the 2009 University Presidential Inaugural Conference (UPIC), including the inauguration of President Barack Obama, in Washington, D.C., as a member of the National Honor Society. A 2008-09 Arthur Ashe Sports Scholars First Team selection, Scott is a seven-time SU Athletic Director’s Honor Roll designee.

Adam Harris, a marketing management major who is a two-time CoSIDA District I All-Academic honoree, and quarterback
Ryan Nassib, a dual finance and accounting major who is a 2010 CoSIDA District I All-Academic selection. In addition, defensive end
Torrey Ball, a graduate student in the new media management program, defensive tackle
Ollie Haney, a graduate student in inclusive special education, offensive lineman and biology major
Ian Allport, tight end and health and physical education major
Thomas Trendowski, and linebacker and finance major
Dan Vaughan are three-time recipients of the league honor..
Syracuse’s two-time honorees include safety and public relations major
