Perhaps the greatest tight end in NFL history, Mackey was a standout collegiate performer as well. He contributed to Syracuse’s 1961 Liberty Bowl triumph with four receptions against Miami. Following a stellar career with the Baltimore Colts and San Diego Chargers totalling a combined 38 touchdowns, Mackey was a 1992 inductee into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He was named to Syracuse University's All-Century team in November, 1999.
