Orange in the NFL: Special Teams
 
Success doesn’t stop at Syracuse for former football student-athletes. Many former SU players have gone on to have successful professional careers. There are currently 35 NFL players that called Syracuse home during their college careers, including two players who compete on special teams.
 
Kicker Olindo Mare is entering his 10th season with the Miami Dolphins. A second-team All-BIG EAST selection his senior season and the holder of the Dolphins record for most points scored, Mare has connected on four of six field goals through three preseason games, including 2 field goals of 50-plus yards.
 
Special teams ace David Tyree is in his fourth season with the New York Giants. Tyree, who also lines up at wide receiver, was selected to his first Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors in 2005 on special teams.
