Head Coach Quentin Hillsman's Post Game Press Conference
Syracuse vs. Saint Peter's
December 12, 2007
Carrier Dome – Syracuse, NY

Opening Statement:
Obviously, it was a very good performance by our team, and Fantasia Goodwin was a complete animal this afternoon. She had 17 points and 25 rebounds, she played a great game. We wanted to go into the break 11-0, but I guess we have to go 10-1, so I guess we have to take it.  I thought overall, that we just played a dominant game. I'm telling you, St. Peter's is a good team. They came in 6-3 and they're going to have a chance to win their conference, and they're a good team. We just dominated. I don't know what to say. I coached at Siena, and they've always been a nemesis, they've always been a burden to us – last year they beat us. People that may have beat us last year, we just want to come back and avenge those wins this year. We just want to show people that we are a good team, and we're going to be here and we're going to play hard. I don't know how many more games we're going to win, we look at one game at a time. But if we play with that effort, and we rebound the ball like that and we get down the floor, I think we have a chance to be pretty good.

On the team's 67 rebounds:
When you dominate a stat like that, it's remarkable. When you think that Fantasia out-rebounded their whole team, she had 25 rebounds, they had 24, so when you look at one person who dominates them the whole game, and dominates another team that badly on the boards, you're going to have a chance to win that basketball game.

On the overall play of the team:
We just want to play hard every game. We just always say that we'll play hard every game. It's funny, because I always tell them that your team is a reflection of your coach. Unless you play like this, you're not a reflection of me. You know, I just don't want to give up anything that I do, and our kids don't ever give up on anything that they do. It's been a long road to this day from last year. It's been a long road, it's been a lot of work, it's been a lot of sacrifice, a lot of effort. I'm just extremely happy for our kids, for the school, for the community. I think that Syracuse is a basketball school, and this community and this school deserve to have winners. I'm trying to hold up my end of the bargain. Dr. Gross and Nancy Cantor do a really good job of supporting our program, and a lot of women's programs don't get the resources and the things that we get, and I just want to make sure that we do everything that we can to let them know that their sacrifice is not in vain, and that we just want to be winners.

On the play of Chandrea Jones:
She is just so unselfish, that sometimes when she flashes [to the top of the lane] she's just so wide open, she thinks pass first, and being aggressive and scoring second. I think tonight and last game, I think that she's surprised every time that she's that wide open. So we have to keep her attacking, and keep her being really aggressive, and I think that when she does, she's going to have some monster games.
On what he wants for Christmas:
To be 10-1. That's all I want – to be 10-1.
